Chris Canty joined a growing chorus of NFL players saying that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is clearly not healthy and should not be playing. Canty's comments came a week after 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks said RG3 was not 100 percent and should not be playing.

Canty, a nine-year veteran defensive lineman that has played in Dallas and New York before joining the Ravens this season, told CSN Washington's Rob Carlin that Griffin no longer has the speed and explosive athletic ability he had as a rookie before a knee injury. Canty said the Redskins would be better off with backup Kirk Cousins at quarterback, which would allow Griffin to rest and the Skins to develop trade value for Cousins.

"RG3 is not healthy," Canty said. "It's apparent to all the players in the NFL."

Both Griffin and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan denied that the quarterback had any lingering health issues following the comments from Brooks. Looks like similar questions may be heading RG3's way after Canty's dialogue. Oddly enough, both Brooks and Canty played college ball at University of Virginia, though Brooks comments came after his team faced Griffin. Canty's Ravens squad does not play the Redskins this season.
