Free agent offensive tackle Bruce Campbell had not signed his contract with the Redskins as of Thursday morning, a source told CSNWashington.com.
Campbell, a 25-year-old reserve who has not started a game in his four-year career and would likely fill a backup role in Washington, visited Redskins Park on Wednesday and agreed to terms on a one-year deal that called for a base salary of $645,000. Mike Jones of The Washington Post reported via Twitter that there were some issues with Campbell's physical.
Campbell missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. The University of Maryland product was drafted in the fourth round by the Raiders in 2010 and spent the past two seasons with the Panthers.
As of early Thursday afternoon it remained unclear whether Campbell would sign in Washington if and when the “issues” get cleared up. But the situation bears watching.
