The Redskins have signed back one of their own, although there was no doubt that it was going to happen.
A league source confirmed to CSN Washington that the team has signed wide receiver Aldrick Robinson to a one-year contract worth $570,000. The team’s sixth-round draft pick in 2011 was an exclusive rights free agent meaning that although his contract had expired the CBA doesn’t allow him to sign anywhere else.
Robinson spent most of his rookie year on the practice squad and he didn’t appear in a game. In the two years since he has been an occasional deep threat but the rest of his game hasn’t come along as well. For his career, Robinson has 29 receptions for 602 yards (20.8 yards/catch) and five touchdowns.
Robinson's deal was first reported by NFL writer Brian McIntyre.
