What a night UFC 126 in Las Vegas turned out to be. Arguably it was one of the most hyped events since UFC 100 and it did not disappoint. So whats next for some of the contenders on the card?Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort

What Happened: Anderson Silva finished Vitor Belfort with an electrifying straight kick to the jaw in the 1st round! The Spiders 13th straight victory in the UFC served as a confirmation as to why hes the best P4P fighter in the world. If you havent seen the KO yet watch our recap video above.

Whats Next for Silva: GSP! During the post fight press conference Dana White confirmed that the mega-fight is going to happen if Georges St-Pierre defeats Jake Shields at UFC 129 in April. When asked where the fight may take place, White said "We could do Canada, and we could do Brazil, too, We could do Las Vegas, and it would be big. We could do Dallas, and it would be big. We could do the Staples Center, and it would be big. GSP vs. Silva will most likely be the biggest event in the sports history.

Whats Next for Belfort: Back to the drawing board for The Phenom. Its always tough to take a loss of this magnitude, but that doesnt mean Belfort is finished. The winner of Akiyama vs. Marquardt seems fit for his next fight.

Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader

What Happened: A clash of the two top LHW contenders Jon Jones continued to live up to the hype by dominating Bader during the 1st round, even coming close to submitting him. The 2nd was mostly spent standing up and trading until Jones easily took Bader down and secured a stunning guillotine choke forcing him to tap.

Whats Next for Jones: A title shot against Mauricio Shogun Rua at UFC 128 in March. Rashad Evans was next in line to fight Rua but had to bow out due to a knee injury. This gives Jon Bones Jones the opportunity of a lifetime and if the wins the belt the skys the limit for this kid from NY.
Whats Next for Bader: Ryan Darth Bader took the very first loss of his career. If Bader learns from his mistake he will ultimately come back stronger. If Thiago Silva loses his match against Rampage in May, Bader vs. Silva has the makings of an epic battle.

Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin

What Happened: Forrest Griffin set the pace for a very strong 1st round. There were some nice exchanges but it was Griffin who was able to keep control and avoid take downs throughout the match. In the end it was a great battle between two former champions, but Franklin had no answers for Griffins size advantage over him.

Whats Next for Griffin: It was looking like the winner of this fight was going to meet up with the winner of Jones vs. Bader. Now that Jones is fighting for the title Griffin may end up fighting the winner of Couture vs. Machida.
Whats Next for Franklin: Rich Franklin has now lost three out of his last five fights. This will most likely drop him significantly in the rankings. An intriguing match-up could be against the loser of Hamill vs. Davis.
