The University of Maryland announced this morning that it would lift the restrictions placed on quarterback Danny O'Brien, offensive lineman Max Garcia and linebacker Mario Rowson, allowing them to transfer to any program. Under NCAA rules, a school can restrict any player attempting to transfer to another NCAA program.

According to The Washington Post, O'Brien and Garcia both met with head coach Randy Edsall this morning in a brief meeting during which Edsall informed the two of their unconditional release.

Not discussed in their meeting, apparently, was the complaint that Maryland filed with the ACC and SEC questioning whether Vanderbilt, and specifically former Terps offensive coordinator and current Vanderbilt coach James Franklin, had improper contact with their players.

Aside from Vanderbilt, numerous unnamed programs have expressed interest in O'Brien, who is expected to make at least three official visits this weekend.
