Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall again Thursday wore his Pro Bowl jersey to practice.Loved it, Miami coach Tony Sparano said. He broke it out last week so hes probably as superstitious as I am so Im glad he broke it out again this week.Marshall got his Pro Bowl career started when he was a fourth-round pick by then-Denver coach Mike Shanahan five years ago.For Shanahan, Marshall had seasons of 20, 102 and 104 catches (14 touchdowns). Since then, he added a 101-catch year with Denver and since being traded to Miami, 132 catches in 22 games.First practice, was how Shanahan responded Thursday when I asked him how soon he knew Marshall would be a star.Shanahan added: He was pretty consistent when he first came in. You could see his strength, his speed, his quickness and his hands. You could just see the first time he went 1-on-1 in the OTAs that he had something that most players dont have. You still didnt know how he was going to do in the games, but you had a good feeling.Marshall didn't light things up immediately. As a rookie he had 20 receptions for 309 yards. The next year, however, he caught 102 passes to start that string of three consecutive 100-catch seasons for the Broncos.Reflecting on his time playing for Shanahan, Marshall said: He was a straight shooter. Honest guy and taught me a lot. He gave me an opportunity, took a chance on me and supported me through my ups and downs. Im very thankful for that relationship. Man, I just love the guy.
