Although they had the option of taking their exit physicals on Friday or after Sundays game against the Giants, many Redskins made appearances Monday in the locker room to clean out their belongings.

A wrap up of the two-hour media availability:

Redskins will pick No. 10
The Redskins will have their eighth top 10 pick since 1999 in this years draft.

The last five 10th overall picks are Matt Leinhart, Amobi Okoye, Jerod Mayo, Michael Crabtree and Tyson Alualu.

The Redskins have picks in rounds 1, 2, 5, 6 (two choices) and 7 (two choices).

Rogers wants to re-sign
Cornerback Carlos Rogers is one of an expected 12 unrestricted free agents and after expressing displeasure throughout the last two years, he hopes to return to the Redskins.

Rogers cites a pre-training camp conversation with coach Mike Shanahan as why his tune has changed.

The last two years were miserable and I was ready to leave but one of the first things he said to me was he didnt want me to leave and I was happy from then on," Rogers said. I want to stay, but it comes down to a business on both sides of the table. Hopefully we can get something done.

Rogers played out his rookie contract plus a restricted free agent tender so he has never had the chance to be pursued by other teams.

Im excited; not even saying that I would hit the open market but if I do, anybody that plays in the league, looks for the opportunity to get that next big deal, he said.

If the new collective bargaining agreement calls for a return of unrestricted free agency for players with four years of service, the Redskins free agents are Rogers, Phillip Buchanon, Kedric Golston, H.B. Blades, Rocky McIntosh, Chris Wilson, Jammal Brown, Stephon Heyer, Rex Grossman, Reed Doughty, Santana Moss and Mike Furrey.

Rabach wants to stay, too
Although his contract doesnt expire, center Casey Rabach the only holdover from the 2009 offensive line wants to return for a sixth year with the Redskins.

Theres always the thought in the back of your mind Did you do enough during the season to hold your spot? he said. You cant really worry about it too much. All I know is that I played as hard as I could each and every play I was out there and hopefully thats good enough for the coaching staff.

Now its about preparation for the next season and hopefully its here.

Rabach started all 16 games for the sixth time and missed only one snap this year. He is due for shoulder surgery later this week.

High praise for Trent
After playing a full year with Trent Williams, Rabach had glowing reviews for the rookie left tackle.

Honestly, I think hes probably the most athletic left tackle Ive ever played with, Rabach said. Its ridiculous how big he is and the way he can move.

Better than former teammates Jonathan Ogden and Chris Samuels?

Chris and Jon are obviously amazing left tackles but Trent has something his foot speed and ability to get himself out of a bad position its something special, Rabach said.

Kelly hopes to contribute
Stuck on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury, receiver Malcolm Kelly is confident he can help the offense next year.

I can bring a different element to the offense, he said.

Unlike some players put on injured reserve, Kelly was with the team the entire year, which he hopes make a favorable impression on Shanahan.

I think a lot of guys go on IR and you dont see their faces, Kelly said. I was up here every single day for every single team meeting and thats hard, coming to the meetings knowing you have the option of being at home or hanging out. To some people its pointless but at the same time, it was showing Shanahan I want to be here.

Said Shanahan: Hes worked out very well according to strength coach Ray Wright and did what hes asked him to do. Will he contribute next year? Im hoping he will. Were going to give him a chance to see what he can do. Hes got some talent and hopefully he does help us but right now, it would be hard for me to say how much until I see him practice and play.

About his injury situation, Kelly said: From hereon out, its about having a better line of communication with people to make sure everybody is on the same page about stuff.
