Friday is the day that we find out about NFL players being fined for hits that are too hard, dangerous or otherwise against the rules. It was initially a little surprising to see DeAngelo Hall included on the list of those fined. He really didnt hit much of anyone very hard against the Patriots last Sunday. After reading the details, it turns out that Hall was fined 7,500 for abusing a penalty flag. After drawing five yards for defensive holding, Hall picked up the referees laundry and launched it down the field. Were not quite sure which was longer, Halls toss or the 15-yard penalty it drew.Just as noteworthy was the fact that London Fletcher was not fined. He was penalized 15 yards for hitting Patriots quarterback Tom Brady just as he was starting to slide. The official said that Fletcher delivered a forearm to Bradys head although replays showed that Fletcher hit no higher than Bradys chest.Patriots nose tackle drew a 15-yard flag for unnecessary roughness as well when he was penalized for what was called a blow to the head of fullback Darrel Young. Replays on that play also indicated contact well below the head.New Englands Andre Carter did draw a 15,000 fine for a low hit on Rex Grossman. That call was questionable as well.
