WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. United have decided not to pursue a permanent transfer for Charlie Davies. Davies played with United this year on loan from French club Sochaux. He started strong but played less as the season wore on, finishing with 11 goals in 26 games, including 18 starts. Thursday's announcement by the club opens several possibilities for the 25-year-old striker who returned from a 2009 car accident that nearly took his life. United could negotiate another loan for Davies and trade his MLS rights to another team, or he could return to Europe as part of a deal between Sochaux and another club. United general manager Dave Kasper says "conversations regarding Charlie's future are ongoing."
