Don Banks of Sports Illustrated does not think that Peyton Manning going to the Redskins; he believes that the Colts quarterback is destined for Miami.
Speaking on LaVar and Dukes on 106.7 The Fan, Banks cited the offense run by Mike Shanahan, which does not go hand in hand with what Manning does well, as the main reason he believes Manning will land elsewhere assuming he is released by the Colts.
An SI.com article written by Banks said that Manning has undergone four medical procedures on his ailing neck in the past two years, one more than was widely believed. He also revealed that he tried to get ready to play late last year but the team doctor refused to allow it.
Despite the new revelations, Banks expects that Mannings NFL career will continue. It just adds another piece to the puzzle, he said. It adds another layer of concern; I dont think that will scare any team off.
Banks believes that NFL teams will give Manning an opportunity because of who he is and what he could bring to a team. Hes going to get every chance because hes Peyton Manning, said Banks.
As far as who ends up signing Manning, Banks said, I guess Id put my buck on the Dolphins. He cited an owner who both wants to win and fill seats in his stadium and the fact that Manning owns a home in South Florida.
You could connect those dots rather easily, he said.
Banks also mentioned Arizona and Seattle as potential landing spots.
I would put the Redskins on the list, I just dont think it makes an awful lot of sense from any direction, he said.
