Biggest surprise from last week in the ACC

Clemson continues to storm through the ACC and has now moved up to 5 in the BCS standings. People have complained for years that the ACC is never mentioned in the national championship discussion. That might change if the Tigers continue their path. I just hope Clemson doesnt pull a Clemson at some point this season.

Biggest letdown from last week in the ACC

Georgia Tech suffered their second straight loss and looks nothing like the offensive dominating team they were at the beginning of the season. Miami held the Jackets to just 211 total yards last weekend, their lowest against an ACC team in the Paul Johnson-era.
ACC Game of the week

5 Clemson at Georgia Tech. A few weeks ago this was the most anticipated game of the season. Now, not so much. I still think its going to be a good game but I also think Clemsons speed is absolutely ridiculous and will be hard to stop. PREDICITION: CLEMSON

Latest from College Park

Head coach Randy Edsall will not make a decision on the starting quarterback until game time against Boston College. He said Tuesday that both C.J. Brown and Danny OBrien are fine. They will both work with the first team in practice this week.

Boston College at Maryland

This could be a rough game. Boston College at Maryland. The Terps are dealing with injuries and a quarterback rotation while the Eagles are looking for their first conference win of the season, second overall.

Latest from Charlottesville

Head coach Mike London is very protective of all his players and looks out for their best interests. That is especially true of freshman quarterback David Watford this week. London has said he will still play Watford against Miami and for the rest of the season but probably not in the rotation theyve been using up to this point. Watford has thrown four interceptions so far this season, including three last week against NC State. London wants to make sure his true freshman is able to develop without doing damage to the kids confidence.

Virginia at Miami

Virginia has a tough task in front of them with a Thursday night showdown against Miami in South Beach. The Hurricanes will be playing their first game of the season with their entire roster. All suspensions have ended and head coach Al Golden couldnt be happier. Miami is beginning to find their stride which is trouble for their remaining opponents. Virginia needs to come out and play the way they did against Georgia Tech and put last weekends game against NC State behind them. This is my upset pick of the week.

Latest from Blacksburg

Injuries continue to stack up for the Hokies. Virginia Tech announced Monday that linebacker Bruce Taylor is lost for the season with a foot injury. That makes six Hokies out for the season. A positive note, running back David Wilson topped the 1,000-yard rushing mark last weekend against Boston College.

Virginia Tech at Duke

The Hokies hit the road for an interesting matchup against Duke. This could easily be a trap game for Virginia Tech but I dont think theyre sleeping on the Blue Devils. As head coach Frank Beamer said earlier this week, Duke is a team that is three points away from being 5-2. The Hokies are leading the Coastal Division and have a strong chance of returning to the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte. They cant slip up now.

Biggest CAA news from last week

Both Richmond and Villanova are still looking for their first conference win. For two teams that have been very successful the last few years, this is surprising and disappointing. It doesnt get any easier this weekend. Villanova hosts first-place Maine and Richmond hosts UMass.

CAA game of the week

CAA game of the upcoming weekend and prediction
21 Delaware at 13 Towson is appealing but I think 9 James Madison at 15 Old Dominion takes the cake.
