The Capitals will try to clinch their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the New York Rangers Saturday without veteran winger Mike Knuble.

Coach Bruce Boudreau confirmed after practice Friday that Knuble will miss a second consecutive game. Knuble was struck in the hand during Sundays Game 3 loss and hasnt practiced with the team since.

With Knuble out, the Capitals will likely dress the same lineup as in Game 4 winger Eric Fehr would dress and, judging by the lines, in practice, Brooks Laich would take Knubles place on the Nicklas Backstrom-Alex Ovechkin line.

Knuble and Dennis Wideman (leg) were the only players not on the ice for the practice, which was viewed by a standing room-only crowd at Kettler Capitals IcePlex.
