EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. Two days after being limited in practice because of an illness, defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is inactive for the Redskins game today against the New York Giants.

Haynesworth, whose playing time the last two games has been limited because the Redskins have used more of their base 3-4 defensive front, has missed four of the teams 12 games this year.

Haynesworth has not started a game this year and missed one game because of an ankle injury and two games following his half-brothers death in a motorcycle accident.

The other Redskins inactives: Safety LaRon Landry, cornerback Carlos Rogers, running backs Ryan Torain and Andre Brown, guard Derrick Dockery and defensive lineman Jeremy Jarmon. John Beck is the third quarterback.

Defensive tackle Anthony Bryant is active for the first time since Week 2 against Houston to take Haynesworths spot. Safety Macho Harris will make his Redskins debut after getting scratched last week.

Of the 14 players listed as questionable on Fridays injury report, 10 are active and Dockery and Jarmon appear to be healthy scratches.

Inactive for the Giants are starting receiver Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks and starting offensive linemen Shaun OHara and David Diehl along with Will Blackmon, Shawn Andrews, Duke Calhoun and Linval Joseph.

Former Redskins receiver Devin Thomas is active for the first time as a Giant.

Rich Seubert starts for OHara, Will Beatty for Diehl and Mario ManninghamDerek Hagan for SmithNicks.
