Virginia Tech strengthened its footprint in Florida as tight end Chris Cunningham committed to the Hokies on Friday.
Cunningham narrowed his list down to Virginia Tech and Louisville and made the announcement via Twitter Friday evening.
The Jacksonville native is rated on Rivals.com as a three-star prospect and at 6’3”, 220 lbs, he certainly has the size to compete at the next level. As is evident from his highlight reel, Cunningham has enjoyed a noticeable size advantage over most of his competition in both height and strength.
Cunningham is the team’s second commit from Florida for the 2015 class.Well known as a recruiting hotbed, Virginia Tech already has seven players from the Sunshine State on the roster. Maintaining Florida as a pipeline state will be critical for the future strength of the Hokies.
With Cunningham, Virginia Tech now has a recruiting class of 11 players. He is only the second offensive player in the class.
