Virginia had a very impressive defensive performance Saturday against UCLA and now the conference has taken note. Linebacker Henry Coley was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week on Tuesday, his first weekly award in his collegiate career.

The senior captain out of Virginia Beach, Va. led the team with 14 tackles, tying a career high. He also recorded 2.5 takles for loss, one forced fumble, one broken up pass and sacked the Heisman hopeful quarterback Brett Hundley twice.

Coley led the way for a defense that bottled up the vaunted Bruins’ attack and held them to only one touchdown. UVa’s 11.0 tackles for loss were the third-most nationally for the weekend and their 5.0 sacks were fourth.

Coley is the first Cavalier to be named ACC Linebacker of the Week since Steve Greer in the final week of the 2012 season.
