The Orioles haven’t made any major free agent signings. They have signed a few minor league free agents.

They re-signed Lew Ford to a minor league contract late last week. Ford, who played in the major leagues for the first time in nearly five years in 2012, was outrighted to Norfolk and then declared free agency. He re-signed a few days later.

According to, the Orioles signed right-handed pitcher Daniel McCutchen and left-hander Dan Myer to minor league deals.

The 30-year-old McCutchen has pitched for parts of the last four seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and is 8-11 with a 4.77 ERA in108 games. Last year, in his only appearance, he faced two batters, and didn’t retire either of them.

Meyer, a one-time first round selection of the Atlanta Braves, is 3-9 with a 5.46 ERA in 103 games. He’s pitched parts of five seasons with the Braves, Athletics and Marlins. The 31-year-old Meyer last pitched in the majors in 2010 when he was 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in 10 games.
