The Orioles may be looking for additional starting pitching in the off-season. They also may be looking for a long reliever. That's something they went without for much of the season.

One possibility is Scott Feldman. The 29-year-old right-hander has a $9.25 million option that the Texas Rangers will almost certainly decline.

Feldman was 6-11 with a 5.09 ERA in 29 games, 21 of them starts with the Rangers this season. In his career, he’s 39-44 with a 4.81 ERA.

In 2009, Feldman won 17 games, by far the best of his eight-season career with the Rangers.

He’s liked by Orioles manager Buck Showalter who was his manager when he made his debut in 2005.

About half of Feldman’s 204 appearances have been starts, and a versatile pitcher can always be helpful.

If the Rangers let him go, it’s very possible the Orioles will be interested in Feldman.
