Stefon Diggs delivered an electric freshman season for the Maryland Terrapins. The Football Writers Association of America noticed.

The FWAA named Diggs to the 2012 Freshman All-American Team as an all-purpose specialist. Other prominent names on the list include Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny Manziel, or "Johnny Football" as he is known, and Maryland native Ronald Darby, a defensive back at Florida State.

As a returner, Diggs gave Maryland a chance to score every time he touched the ball. Between punt and kick returns, Diggs amassed more than 900 yards and two touchdowns, including a 100-yard touchdown return against Virginia.

Diggs also did damage as a reciever for the Maryland offense. In 11 games Diggs hauled in 54 passes for 848 yards and six touchdowns.
