D.C. United reserve forward Conor Doyle will miss the remainder of the 2014 season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. The team expects to be without the 22-year-old for four to six months following the Tuesday surgery at The Orthopaedic Center in WashingtonD.C.,

Doyle made 17 regular season appearances for DCU in 2014, including one start for the 11-6-4 squad. After coming to the team on a loan in 2013, the forward tallied two goals and one assist in 14 games (eight starts).

“Conor has made important contributions to the team since his arrival last year, and we are disappointed to lose him at this point in the season,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. “We are confident in his return next spring.”
