INDIANAPOLIS -- The Wizards' fortunes for Game 2 took a turn for the worst when Nene went out with a left leg injury with 4:28 left in the first quarter.

Nene was chasing Pacers point guard George Hill into the lane and appeared to step on the back of his foot. Nene, who had four points in eight minutes, rolled his left foot and was immediately replaced by Drew Gooden instead of Trevor Booker.

Nene missed 21 games late in the season -- and Booker started all of them -- and returned April 9 because of a left knee ligament sprain. He's wearing a brace but appeared to point to the knee.

He walked back to the bench just after the second quarter started and didn't have a limp.

When he left the Wizards were trailing 15-13. He returned after a timeout with eight minutes left and his team ahead 31-28. Gooden had two points at the time, the result of a smooth dribble and counter move around Ian Mahinmi for a layup.
