Wizards doing due diligence with Nerlens Noel

Victor Oladipo declined to visit the Wizards for a workout recently, as CSN Washington first reported June 6, but they’re still going to evaluate him before the June 27 draft.

Oladipo, a 6-3 guard from Indiana, is working out at DeMatha Catholic in nearby Hyattsville, Md. and the Wizards expect to visit him later this week or next, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to CSN.

The Wizards pick No. 3 overall and are expected to go with a forward or center unless they make a trade to a acquire size and move down in the lottery.

Oladipo is from nearby Upper Marlboro, Md. He interviewed with the Wizards at last month's pre-draft combine in Chicago, but at that  was before the draft lottery. At the time, the Wizards were projected to pick eighth.

Last week, the Wizards interviewed Anthony Bennett (UNLV), Otto Porter (Georgetown) and Nerlens Noel (Kentucky).

Bennett couldn't work out because he's still recovering from left rotator cuff surgery. Noel tore the a ligament in his left knee and didn't do drills, either.
