Wizards player review: Rashard Lewis

Before the season, the Wizards were hoping that forward Rashard Lewis could return to his old form from his Seattle days that garnered him a whopping 6-year, 118-million contract from Orlando in 2007.

It was wishful thinking on the Wizards' part because the 33-year-old Lewis struggled again with knee issues and missed more than the last half the season due to the injury.

When Lewis did play, there was little that resembled histime with the Sonics when he was an all-star and averaged 22 points a game in the 2006-07 season.

In just 28 games this past season, Lewis averaged just 7 points and 4 rebounds for the Wizards.

Lewis' final year of his deal is next season when he is due to make 22-million, but the Wizards can buy him out this summer. It's a move the team should make because Lewis is not in the team's future plans at all.

With forwards Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton in the mix, Lewis -- if he returned -- would be one expensive bench warme
