There are no certainties over an NBA regular season, but this much is true: no team will play more games going forward than the Washington Wizards.

It doesn't take a math major to realize that with a 14-14 record and an 82-game schedule, the Wizards have 54 games left on the docket. With no more matchups before the calendar flips, all come in 2014.

Only the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, both at 9-21, will enter the New Year with as many games remaining. Every team in the Western Conference other than the New Orleans Pelicans has played at least 30.

On the other end, the Utah Jazz (10-24) have already played 34 games. The Houston Rockets (21-12) reach that number Tuesday night with a home game against Sacramento.

After some grueling stretches over the opening weeks of the season, Washington only played 11 games during 31 days of December. Only twice did the Wizards play three games in a week.

That changes radically starting with the first full week in January. Starting January 5 against the Golden State Warriors, the Wizards play five games in seven days, including three on the road. In each of the subsequent two weeks, four games apiece. Add it all up and fro January 5-25, Washington plays 13 games in 21 days.

Not sure if that catches them up to Utah, but clearly the Wizards will be trying.
