If Nene is Brazil's current global king of basketball, Oscar Schmidt was its first. Therefore it made perfect sense John Wall would have a photo op with the 2013 Basketball Hall of Fame inductee during the Wizards' visit to the South American country.

No word on whether the pair discussed this jab Schmidt hurled the Wizards' way during his Hall of Fame induction speech. Something tells me it didn't come up.

(By the way, before someone inevitably asks, "Who is Oscar Schmidt," take a Google tour to learn more about the unofficially all-time leading scorer in global basketball history. Lots of videos out there, including this one of Schmidt and Brazil stunning a Team USA squad with David Robinson and Danny Manning at the 1987 Pan Am games. Basically think a bigger, more aggressive and more likable version of J.J. Redick)

Wall, who took his mother on the trip, and Schmidt were together at the famed Christ the Redeemer statue. We also know the point guard had at least one glimpse of the beach. Considering the never-ending rain in D.C. this week, this view is all the more painful.

On Saturday, Wall's line of sight will include lots of Derrick Rose as the Wizards and Bulls meet in Rio as part of the NBA's Global Games.
