Ty Lawson, star point guard for the Denver Nuggets and D.C. area native, has been charged with physical harassment and criminal mischief, the Denver Post reported on Monday night.
According to court documents, Lawson, 25, appeared in Arapahoe County court Monday to be arraigned on charges.
He is free on a $1,000 bond, according to court records obtained by the Post.
The Prince George's County grew up in Forestville, attended Bishop McNamara High School and Oak Hill, starred at the University of North Carolina and was a first round pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Lawson averaged 16.7 points and 6.9 assists last season.
Lawson took to Twitter Monday night, replying to a tweet about the situation seeming fishy. "20 day old fish," he tweeted.
