If the Wizards are going to end their three-game losing streak to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, they’re going to have to do it without Nene.

The power forward injured his right shoulder in the third quarter of a 90-84 win at the Toronto Raptors on Monday and was a late scratch at Verizon Center.

He is being replaced in the lineup by Trevor Booker, who matches up better against the Pistons’ Jason Maxiell than Kevin Seraphin.

Nene is averaging just 12.6 points, but his ability to create his own shot in the low post is invaluable for the Wizards (18-37). He made a clutch reverse layup late in the win at Toronto to help seal that victory.

Nene was on the bench because of a foot injury to start the season as the Wizards opened with 12 consecutive losses.

This is their fourth and final meeting in the regular season with the Pistons, who enter on a three-game losing streak.

Booker has made only seven starts this season, averaging 5.2 points and 4.4 rebounds.
