Spend any time in a professional locker room and you'll notice certain players spending time making sure they look oh so fashionable before re-entering the outside world. That's no knock, certainly not from a sportswriter content with the jeans and baseball hat look.
It's just something one notices. In the case of Wizards center Kevin Seraphin, Redskins tight end Fred Davis and DC United goalie Bill Hamid, those in the fashion industry noticed as the trio were selected Washington D.C.'s most stylist for 2013.
The 25 fashion plates will be honored Thursday night as part of Fashion ReDeux at Studio 52 in the District. Other local athletes among the 25 honored include Redskins' Niles Paul, DC United's Ben Olsen and Perry Kitchen.
Peering through Seraphin's extensive Instagram gallery, I came across mostly images of the 6-foot-10 big man in the gym donning workout garb. Guessing those looks aren't the clothes that make the man. On the other hand, I did find:
Seraphin in a suit:
in a vest while holding up a Wizards jersey with a politician from his native French Guyana
Also discovered, Seraphin in a tank top hanging with some kind of living statue
with Spiderman and Iron Man
and sporting a really large pair of headphones
Something tells me on Thursday we'll see the suit wearing Seraphin. Personally, I'm hoping the living statue makes an appearance.
