When seeking to fill a front office position, raiding the Thunder's staff seems like a reasonable decision - and one the Wizards apparently have made.

The Wizards will reportedly hire Oklahoma City scout Frank Ross as their Director of Player Personnel, according to's David Aldridge. Ross served as the Thunder's East Coast scouting director.

The position became open when Pat Connelly took a job in the Phoenix Suns' scouting department.

Washington has not made the hiring official yet and there is no bio for Ross on the Thunder's website. So, there isn't much more meat to add here other than stating that Thunder have obviously become one one of the league's premier organizations. With a healthy roster Oklahoma City reached the 2012 NBA Finals, but were bounced early this season when Russell Westbrook went down for the count in the second round against Memphis.

Even though much of the Thunder's success stems from selecting Kevin Durant, the team has made several other savvy moves; Westbrook was something of a surprise pick when OKC took him fourth overall in the NBA Draft. For the most part the roster has been compiled with players taken in the draft or acquired for those selected by Oklahoma City.

With scout Pat Sullivan replacing Jerry Sichting as one of Randy Wittman's assistant coaches and VP of player personnel Milt Newton not headed to Minnesota, the overall staff appears set for now.
