Chris Singleton apparently took his NBA plans to the next step.

The free agent forward reportedly worked out for NBA teams on Monday in Las Vegas.'s Wizards Insider J. Michael reported last week that Singleton, who spent his first three NBA seasons with the Wizards, declined an opportunity to play overseas in the hopes of staying in the league.

The Wizards have 14 players set for next season, leaving one roster spot open.

Al Harrington hoped he could be number 15, but instead is heading to China. Though Washington lacks a true stretch-4 type forward, Singleton's 3-point shooting has never been a strength. The career 31.9 percent shooter from beyond the arc averaged 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 25 games last season.

Call me a sucker, but I still think Singleton has a chance for a second act in the NBA. The 6-foot-9 forward has the size to guard bigs and the range to defend 3-pointers. He showed promise playing consistent minutes as a rookie; the Wizards added Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster before the 2012-13 season and Singleton's minutes -- and perhaps confidence -- disappeared.
