When LeBron James chose to rejoin the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday afternoon, many experts surmised Chris Bosh would leave Miami as well. Some reports had Bosh going back to his own home state of Texas to form a new super team in Houston.
Not so fast. According to reports on Friday evening, Bosh is staying put with the Heat to continue playing with Dwyane Wade.
Check this from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:
Chris Bosh is finalizing an agreement to return to Miami on a five-year, $118M deal, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 11, 2014
Woj also says Wade is likely to sign a short-term deal, allowing the Heat to keep two members of their Big Three. Miami will likely take a big step back without LeBron, but it sounds like they will once again be contenders in the Eastern Conference.
The question for Wizards fans now becomes who the favorite in the Southeast division is. Are the Heat with Wade and Bosh still better than a rising Washington Wizards team? Or should the Wizards now be the frontrunners to take over the division?
