Nene hopes to hold down the Wizards front court

There's a new twist on the injury front for the Wizards entering Saturday's preseason game vs. the Chicago Bulls in Rio de Janeiro (NBATV, 5 p.m. ET).

Trevor Booker, who missed the first week of training camp because of a sore right knee, was available for action while veteran Al Harrington, 33, sat out with a left thigh strain.

Booker has been sidelined along with top rookie draft pick Otto Porter (right hip flexor), but began doing limited contact drills last weekend. Booker entered the game late in the first quarter.

The Bulls didn't play Derrick Rose because of soreness in his left knee which is said to be a precaution. Rose missed all of last season because of a ligament tear. Kirk Hinrich started in his place. Joakim Noah sat with a groin injury

He probably could've played in Tuesday's 111-106 overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets  at Verizon Center but elected to not push himself too soon.

Jan Vesely started at power forward vs. the Nets, with Harrington coming off the bench.

While Vesely has more size and Harrington is a threat because of his three-point range, Booker brings hustle.
