The confidence that has been missing from Jan Vesely, who was drafted sixth overall three years ago, appeared for the 15 minutes that he lasted. Unfortunately for the Wizards, it was his first game against his old team that traded him Feb. 20 and Vesely provided energy for a bench that scored almost half of their total points. Unfortunately for Vesely, it all could be interrupted by an injury.

Vesely had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals when he helped the reserves, who scored 52 total points, spark the Denver Nuggets in a 105-102 victory. He went out in the third quarter, however, after biting a pump fake from Drew Gooden and coming down on his shoulder and didn't return.

"He has a bruised rib. Thats tough because his whole side was exposed," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "He went for the pump fake and Drew Gooden jumped into him and he had no way of protecting himself on the side. He took a hard shot. ... I don't know what his status is going to be for (Monday) night."

The Nuggets play at the Oklahoma City Thunder and could have an even shorter bench without Vesely, who was at least pleased he could show well against the Wizards.

"I tried to put my best on the court. I had motivation. I think I did good," said Vesely, who didn't have the fourth-year option on his rookie contract picked up by the Wizards before the season began, making him a free agent this summer. "It feels perfect. I'm really happy."
