Beal, Wizards top Heat in preseason
Nene showed up at practice Thursday, before the Wizards departed for a game later tonight with the New York Knicks in Baltimore, but didn't participate.
The 7-footer stayed behind in Brazil after the Wizards played there Saturday because of a family matter.
The team didn't declare him out, but it seems unlikely that he'd play given his injury history and time off. That would mean Kevin Seraphin starting again at center with Trevor Booker or Jan Vesely at power forward.
Nene didn't speak Wednesday.
"It was good to have him back. You can definitely see some pain in his eyes, with his family and his father going through what he's going through," Martell Webster said. "We welcome him with open arms, let him know that we're here for him. It's always good to have one of your family members back."
