The Wizards will likely begin the regular season without starting center Nene who is still sidelined with plantar fasciitis. The 6'-11” Nene has yet to practice in the pre-season as his left-foot injury has not fully healed and he' is doubtful for Tuesday night's opener at Cleveland.
Nene missed 10 games for the Wizards last season with the same injury. He averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds in the 11 games he played for Washington. There is no timetable for his return.
The Wizards are already without starting point guard John Wall for at least the first month of the season with a sore knee.
