Other than some overall soreness in his body after almost two months off, Nene's left knee responded well to his first full contact practice so there's no reason to believe that he won't be on the court in Wednesday's pivotal matchup with the Charlotte Bobcats at Verizon Center (CSN, 7 p.m. ET). And he will be eased back in with a playoff berth already clinched.

"There'll be some restrictions early on, I'm sure," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said Tuesday. "I mean, five games (left). I haven't sat down with the doctor yet to gauge that. That'll happen today. First game back, especially. It gives us five games to get out there, get some rhythm, your timing, wind."

Nene began doing non-contact drills a week ago and had his first full practice Monday. He hadn't played since Feb. 23, when he strained a left knee ligament.

By returning this week, Nene, who has missed 21 games during this stretch with his team going 12-9, is on schedule to return in the projected six weeks.

The only question that remains if whether or not he'll start, which would send Trevor Booker back to the bench.
