Wizards swingman Martell Webster will miss Friday's game against the Suns due to the flu, the team announced before tip-off.
Webster, who played in 40 of the opening 41 games this season, is averaging what would be a career-high 11.5 points. The Wizards (20-21) could use the 3-point and scoring threat against a Phoenix (24-17) squad that ranks seventh in the NBA with 104.4 points per game.
Rookie Otto Porter could get back into the rotation with Webster out and Bradley Beal still on a minutes restriction. After receiving at least 11 minutes in eight straight games from Dec. 21-Jan.7, the small forward has been more observer than player. Porter has scored only four points over his last nine games.
The Wizards open a four-game Western Conference road trip against the Suns. Washington-Phoenix starts at 9 p.m. on CSN-plus.
