Wittman: We can't feel sorry for ourselves

CHARLOTTE -- Kevin Seraphin didn't play in the last game because of a coach's decision, but he is expected to get ample burn off the bench tonight vs. the Charlotte Bobcats (CSN, 7 p.m. ET).

That's because the Wizards (14-17) have to deal with Al Jefferson, a 6-10, 289-pound bruiser who is averaging 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds.

Marcin Gortat will get the initial challenge and has to keep him off the boards, but Seraphin likely will get the call as his backup instead of Jan Vesley, who logged 16 minutes in the last game vs. the Golden State Warriors.

Gortat, however, has been out of sync. He hasn't had more than seven rebounds in the last six games. Seraphin's highest rebound total this season is six. He has had issues with swelling in his right knee and then bruised it in a game last month.

"The coach told me to be ready tonight. So I'm going to just be ready and prepare myself," Seraphin said after practice Tuesday morning at Time Warner Cable Arena. "I feel OK. I'm good right know. My knee is coming back really good."
