Beal breaks down game-winner vs. Knicks

NEW YORK -- By just looking at the boxscore, Glen Rice is active for the Wizards and available to play. But he really isn't. Coach Randy Wittman didn't play the rookie in Monday's 102-101 victory at the New York Knicks and it appears he didn't have a choice choice.

Rice is wearing a brace to protect his right hand/wrist, the shooting hand, and had difficulty putting the arm through his coat after the game. When asked about the specifics of Rice's injury or his status, the Wizards didn't have any additional information but should provide details Tuesday.

So while Otto Porter, Eric Maynor and Chris Singleton didn't play, either, they are at least healthy. Fortunately for the Wizards (10-13), they got Bradley Beal back from a lower right leg injury as he scored 21 points to lead them to a late comeback and didn't need Rice, who started a game last week in his place.

The Wizards practice Tuesday morning and will play at the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday (CSN, 7:30 p.m. ET).
