Wizards look to prove themselves on road trip

The Wizards, who started the season with three losses, now have two-game winning as they commence a challenging stretch on the road Sunday.

TV: Wizards Central pregame with Chris Miller and Ron Thompson on CSN, 6:30 p.m. ET. Game coverage follows at from Chesapeake Energy Arena. Wizards Postgame Live immediately after the game. Radio: 1500 AM.

Last game: Won vs. Brooklyn Nets 112-108 OT as the Wizards erased a 15-point deficit from the first half and an 11-point deficit with less than six minutes left in regulation. Thunder won at the Detroit Pistons 119-110 .

Projected starting lineups: Wizards –- PG John Wall, SG Bradley Beal, SF Trevor Ariza, PF Nene, C Marcin Gortat. Thunder –- PG Russell Westbrook, SG Thabo Sefolosha, SF Kevin Durant, PF Serge Ibaka, C Kendrick Perkins.

Question marks: 1). Can Nene string together consecutive games like his season-best 20 points and eight rebounds vs. Brooklyn?  2). Will Martell Webster get more than one shot? 3). Will Kevin Seraphin ever figure out how to pass out of double-teams? 4).  Can Wall continue to play in control and not get wrapped up into a 1-on-1 battle with Westbrook? 5). Is Beal just getting started?

X-factors: Wall was bothered by back spasms before his last game. He has had them since the second game. … After starting the first three games, PF Trevor Booker (left index finger) has dressed and been declared able to play but has not seen any playing time with Nene back.

He said it: “You definitely look at it, that you are 2-3 now, you’re one game away from being .500 instead of being 1-4. It’s a big difference. It’s a good way to come and finally get a win at home since we lost our home opener and get a two-game winning streak.” -- Wall

Around the bend: The Wizards play at the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday (CSN+, 8:30 p.m. ET) and end their road trip Wednesday at the San Antonio Spurs (CSN, 8:30). It represents their first back-to-back games of the season.
