"Shabazz Napier, you and the Connecticut Huskies just won the 2014 national championship game. Where are you going next??

Actually, Shabazz, don't answer that. Besides, one NBA Draft website has a suggestion: The Verizon Center.

Updated Monday before UConn's 60-54 title win over Kentucky, DraftExpress.com's latest NBA mock draft has the senior point guard and Final Four MVP going to the Washington Wizards with the 16th pick in the second round.

Now, mock drafts mean next to nothing more than two months out. Oh, let me clarify. NBA mock drafts more than two months out mean squat for all kinds of reasons. The draft order isn't set. Neither is the player pool. NFL mock drafts on the other hand are gospel. Anyway...

NBA mocks won't mean much to Wizards nation this year because the team traded their first round selection to the Phoenix Suns for center Marcin Gortat. However Washington does have a second round pick. With so much roster uncertainty* entering next season, there is a strong possibility the second round selection makes the squad.

(*) The following players are currently under contract for next season: John Wall, Nene, Bradley Beal, Martell Webster, Andre Miller, Otto Porter. That's it, that's the list.

As for Napier specifically, the 6-foot-1 guard averaged 18 points, six rebounds and five assists per game for the Huskies while making one big play after another during their postseason run. On Monday, 22 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals en route to his second national championship.

As for his fit with the Wizards, Washington will need a long term backup for Wall. The 38-year-old Miller is not that.

As far as early, early NBA mock drafts go, this one can work.
