Wall, Wizards hitting their stride

It's the halfway point of the NBA season but it could be the start of something really good for the Wizards, who ran their home winning streak to four straight with a businesslike 114-101 win over Minnesota Friday night at Verizon Center.

"I think our guys see a body of work and are believing in it,” said Wizards coach Randy Wittman, who saw his team improve to 10-31 overall. "Now it's just time to focus and stay focused on that. This is the way I think these guys understand we have to play,"

Led by Jordan Crawford's 19 points, six Wizards players scored in double figures as they never trailed in the blowout win over the Timberwolves.

"We’ve got everybody that's supposed to be playing and everyone is playing with confidence," Crawford said. "Things are just clicking."

One of the major reasons for that is the return of the Wizards’ point guard and catalyst John Wall. With the win over Minnesota, Washington improved to 5-3 with Wall back from injury. Without him, the Wizards started the season 5-28.

In his first start of the season against the Timberwolves, Wall had 14 points and 5 assists in 21 minutes of play.

"We're not going to give up," Wall said. "We're going to keep trying to learn each day and get better. Keep getting our chemistry better and see how many games we can win."

The Wizards get a major test with the 26-16 Chicago Bulls tonight at Verizon Center.
