Bradley Beal exited in late in the second quarter of Wednesday's game after he tried to run down a loose ball and injured his right hip pointer. His return against the Phoenix Suns was called questionable with the Wizards trailing 54-44 at halftime, but he re-entered midway through the third.

Beal mishandled the ball on a drive to the basket and took a dive to the floor to recover it. It isn't clear if he landed on another player, if he incurred the injury when pushing off his right leg or when he crashed to the floor.

He tried to stay in the game by running it off, but Beal started to signal towards the bench that he needed to come out. He had eight points on 3-for-6 shooting, four assists and three rebounds in 18 minutes of the first half.

Bel has had issues with stress injuries to his lower right leg and a right ankle sprain two weeks ago. He didn't miss time because of the ankle sprain.

When the Wizards returned to the floor after halftime to warm up, Beal wasn't there. Martell Webster began the third quarter in his place. Beal, however, made a surprise return with 6:21 remaining.
