The Wizards will not have any players representing the franchise in the actual NBA All-Star game. This is not news. However, Bradley Beal's presence in the Rising Stars Challenge game ensures the three-day event will not be Washington-less.

The NBA announced on Wednesday the list of players for the Friday, Feb. 15 game, a combination of nine rookies and sophomores, though the game is no longer played with those distinct sides. Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal will draft their respective teams on February 7 and then for the first time fans will be able to vote online for the starters.

In 41 games this season, Beal is averaging 13.2 points, third among all rookies, and 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft scored a career-high 26 and set a franchise rookie record with six 3-pointers at Sacramento on Jan. 16.

Recently a right wrist injury has hampered Beal's reliable perimeter shot and the team announced he will not play in Wednesday's road game at Philadelphia.

Other rookies selected for the game include No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis (Hornets), Rookie of the Year frontrunner Damian Lillard (Blazers), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (Bobcats), Harrison Barnes (Warriors), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Dion Waiters (Cavs) , Tyler Zeller (Cavs) and Alexey Shved (Timberwolves).

Cavaliers' guard Kyrie Irving headlines the sophomore class. Others headed to Houston, Kenneth Faried (Nuggets), Brandon Knight (Pistons), Kawhi Leonard (Spurs), Chandler Parsons (Rockets), Kemba Walker (Bobcats).Klay Thompson (Warriors), Tristan Thompson (Cavaliers) and Nikola Vucevic (Magic).

Wizards' not selected for the game, second-year forwards Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton.
