After firing Ozzie Guillen, the Marlins have found his replacement. Former MLB catcher Mike Redmond has agreed to a three-year deal with Miami to manage the team he once played for. Ken Rosenthal of first reported the news.

Redmond came up through the Marlins’ minor league system and made his debut in 1998. He was with the Marlins until 2004 before signing with Minnesota. Redmond was the backup catcher on the 2003 World Series team.

The 41-year-old Redmond batted .287 in his career with 13 home runs and 243 RBI. Before joining Miami he had previously managed the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.

Despite being fired from the club after a contentious first year, Guillen took to Twitter to congratulate the new hire.
