Johnson confident he'll return to Nats

Everyone expects Davey Johnson to return as Nationals manager, but as each day passes it begs the question: when will they get the deal done?

Johnson is under contract as a consultant for the team, but a new agreement is being discussed for him to manage. While some Nats fans may start becoming worried, Johnson himself told MLB.com that he isn’t concerned at all.

"There isn't really any rush for me," Johnson told MLB.com's Bill Ladson. "I'm not worried about it. I assume everything is going to worked out. I don't feel like it's an emergency. I feel like I'm still the manager."

Ladson says a deal could get done within the next few days as general manger Mike Rizzo is still negotiation despite being at the GM meetings in Indian Wells, California.

Johnson led the Nationals to a 98-64 record in 2012 and their first N.L. East title since moving to Washington.

Two things had to happen for the Nationals to clinch the NL East title Saturday night. They had to beat the Pirates, and the Mets had to lose to the Phillies.

Both of those things happened, and the Nats wasted no time getting the celebration going.

And they kept it going.

Bryce Harper sported a Katie Ledecky swim cap to protect his flow from the flying liquid.

Then the team left the clubhouse, apparently to go roam Pittsburgh and find some Nats fans to celebrate with.

Bryce Harper always talks about loving Washington, D.C. and after winning another NL East crown, he honored one of the local legends from the Rio games.

Katie Ledecky was one of the stars of the Olympics and the Bethesda resident appears to have given Harper a swimcap to celebrate clinching the NL East.

She reached out to Harper on twitter and appreciated the MVP sporting the swim cap.
