By the looks of it, Bryce Harper's rehab is going pretty smoothly. Harper suited up for the Class AA Harrisburg Senators on Saturday and showed why he is a two-time All Star. After grounding out into a double play at his first at-bat, Harper made his next plate appearances ones to remember, recording three home runs and 5 RBI against the Akron RubberDucks. Harper went 4-5 and helped the Senators record a 10-4 victory.
Putting up great numbers wasn't the only highlight of Harper's evening. Playing with the Senators was more than just a rehab game, it was an opportunity for Bryce to play alongside his older brother Bryan Harper. On Sunday, Bryce tweeted out this photo of him and his brother decked out in Senators gear.
Bryan has been working his way through the Nationals' farm system as a relief pitcher and has played four games for the Senators this season. In 4.2 innings pitched he's recorded a 1.93 ERA, one win, and three strikeouts. While Bryce's return to the majors is a certainty, it remains to be seen if Bryan will join him in the big leagues. Regardless, a Harper-duo in Harrisburg made for some great brotherly bonding, and an opportunity to showcase some impressive facial hair.
