2013-14 COLLEGE HOOPS PACKAGE FEATURES 114 MEN’S AND 47 WOMEN’S GAMES FROM NATION’S BEST CONFERENCES, INCLUDING ACC, CAA AND A-10
COVERAGE INCLUDES AT LEAST 86 APPEARANCES BY REGION’S TOP PROGRAMS, HIGHLIGHTED BY MARYLAND, VIRGINIA TECH AND VIRGINIA
Bethesda, Md. (Oct. 30, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has announced its 161-game college basketball schedule for the 2013-14 season, which features 114 men’s and 47 women’s games from the nation’s top conferences, including the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and Atlantic 10 (A-10).
Comcast SportsNet’s men’s schedule – which tips off Nov. 8 – includes at least 69 appearances by 15 of the region’s top programs. Area teams set to make multiple appearances this season are Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, George Washington, Towson, James Madison, Delaware, VCU, American, Richmond and William & Mary. Regional programs Howard, Navy, Old Dominion and UMBC will also appear on the network this season.
Comcast SportsNet, the region’s official network of the ACC, will present 43 men’s games featuring conference teams this season. The Hokies are scheduled for eight games on the network, all against ACC opponents, with the Terrapins and Cavaliers set to make three appearances each. During the season, all 14 ACC teams will appear on Comcast SportsNet.
As the official network of the CAA, Comcast SportsNet will present 25 men’s conference games this season. Towson is set to make nine appearances, with James Madison scheduled for eight, Delaware for seven and William & Mary for four. The network’s CAA coverage will also include four conference tournament quarterfinals games in March.
Comcast SportsNet’s men’s schedule will also feature several games from top regional programs from other conferences, highlighted by 19 combined appearances by the A-10’s George Washington (9), VCU (6) and Richmond (4). The Patriot League’s American University is scheduled to appear on the network four times this season.
Comcast SportsNet’s women’s college basketball schedule, which opens with California at George Washington on Nov. 15, includes 36 games from the ACC. Maryland and Virginia are both scheduled to make four appearances on the network, with Virginia Tech set for three games. Comcast SportsNet’s ACC coverage will also include 11 conference tournament games.
The CAA women’s basketball schedule on Comcast SportsNet includes coverage of several area teams, including Delaware, James Madison, Towson and William & Mary. The network will televise eight CAA women’s games, including the conference tournament semifinals and championship. Overall, the region’s top women’s programs will make at least 17 appearances on the network this season.
