- MELBOURNE, Australia - Victoria Azarenka admits she ``almost did the choke of the year'' in defeating Sloane Stephens, who ousted Serena Williams from the Australian Open a day earlier.

- OWINGS MILLS, Md. - After successful stops in Baltimore, Denver and New England, the Ray Lewis Retirement Tour performs for the final time in New Orleans on the NFL's grandest stage.

- SANTA CLARA, Calif. - With two sons coaching in the Super Bowl, Jack and Jackie Harbaugh can take heart in knowing one of their boys will leave the Big Easy with the Lombardi Trophy.

- NEW YORK - Manti Te'o tells Katie Couric in a taped interview he played no part in the hoax but admits answering questions about his ``dead'' online girlfriend after receiving a call from the poser. Broadcast at 3 p.m.

- SAN DIEGO - Tiger Woods starts his PGA Tour season at Torrey Pines, where he has won seven times as a professional and will try to get an idea about the state of his game.

- ST. LOUIS - The public gets to pay respects to Stan Musial, baseball's ``perfect knight'' who died at 92. Six hours have been allotted for the visitation. A private funeral is Saturday. Visitation 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

- BOSTON - The trash-taking saga of Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett resumes when the Celtics face the Knicks. The Celtics have lost four in a row; New York has lost its last 13 in Boston. Game starts 8 p.m.

- NEW ORLEANS - There's a new bird in town. The New Orleans Hornets are to announce they are changing their name to the Pelicans next season.

- PITTSBURGH - So much for the notion the Penguins seemed invincible. The Maple Leafs changed all that Wednesday, giving Pittsburgh coach Day Bylsma evidence this team remains a work in progress.

- OMAHA, Neb. - No woman has repeated as U.S. champion since Michelle Kwan in 2005. Ashley Wagner aims to change that at this week's U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

- CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy - OK, so you know Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso. And maybe you've heard of teen phenomenon Mikaela Shiffrin, too. But who are these other American women skiing so well?

- CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami has long been a college basketball backwater, but that's changing now that the No. 25 Hurricanes are leading the Atlantic Coast Conference and coming off a big win over No. 1 Duke.
