NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Carolina Panthers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 29) - Remember ... they're still very young.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 22) - With Marty Hurney out as general manager, plenty of coaches and players should also worry.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 30)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 29) - Things falling apart after the firing of GM Marty Hurney and the meltdown of Cam Newton in the postgame press conference.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 28) - GM Marty Hurney gets the gate. Can Ron Rivera be far behind?

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 30) - A four-game losing streak cost general manager Marty Hurney his job this week. That doesn't solve any of a plethora of problems on the field, though.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 30) - Listening to Cam Newton after last week's loss convinced me why these guys stink. They need a leader, and, right now, Cam ain't it. He's supposed to be the face of the franchise, so he has a decision: Either grow up or shut up.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 29) - GM Marty Hurney just took the fall for a talented but immature quarterback.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 28) - Cam Newton said he doesn't like the vibe - whatever that means. There are issues in Carolina with injuries on the defense but Cam needs to play better.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 29) - The QB needs to grow up. On the field and in his press conferences. Passing the buck is not leadership, Cam.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 28) - Firing general manager Marty Hurney in Week 7 isn't going to make the disappointing Panthers any better.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 29) - Neither firing Marty Hurney nor yelling at Cam Newton isn't going to turn around the Panthers.
