NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Miami Dolphins by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

MIAMI DOLPHINS (18)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 21) - Maybe catch Jets on downer after Patriots loss.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 15) - The season's most pleasant surprise. Joe Philbin is doing a superb coaching job.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 18)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 18) - Fresh off their bye and a chance to clean some things up from the first six weeks.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 21) - Surprising Dolphins come off the bye and face the improving Jets on the road. They already lost to the Jets at home.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 19) - Who'd have guessed at this point of the season that Miami with a rookie quarterback would rank higher on offense than the Jets and their Mark Sanchez-Tim Tebow tag team? The Dolphins visit the Jets Sunday.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 22) - The more I see of Ryan Tannehill the more I think the Dolphins have a quarterback for the future.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 14) - This defense doesn't get enough national pub, and that's a shame.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 16) - A solid front seven on defense and an improving rookie quarterback are good signs they will be competitive all season. The future is bright.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 18) - The improvement Tannehill is making is remarkable considering the lack of weaponry surrounding him. HC Joe Philbin is doing a respectable job with this team.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 15) - And to think a team that looked so bad on Hard Knocks would make the playoffs if the season ended today.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 20) - This team has become very interesting to watch, Ryan Tannehill aside.
